Perennial even in Southern California We got the seeds from the Claytons of French Harvest. Colin Clayton says: ‘Red Surprise first appeared as one the 1,000s of Winter Wonder seedlings I grow. I have nurtured, propagated and multiplied this single precious seedling until I have sufficient plants to make seed available. It has all the characteristics of Winter Wonder, but is bright RED all year round and grows and picks well all winter and even in the hottest summer. WHAT A FIND! Suitable for home growers, commercial and the pot plant trade. Grows at least 90% true to type.”
