Yes we can grow sugar cane around here!! Moreover it is fun and easy to grow. It only needs water, any fertilizer and pruning of dead leaves. Sugar cane should be grown in a 15 or more gallon pot (it will grow but slower in smaller pots) as it will spread in rich soil. It grows very easily and It has many different culinary uses across many cultures as well as used in many traditional medicines. You can just chew it or thread shrimp on it and grill it. You can even juice the stuff.
It is a definite bragging rights/conversation piece plant.
