Joining

When our meetings are open to the public, why join the West LA Chapter?  Well, holy bananas, there’s a bunch of reasons.

First of all, the meetings are only every-other month.  The alternate months are Field Trips.  For insurance reasons, and since these are often to private homes (where we get for example to see how our fellow fruit growers are fitting 150 trees into a regular city lot), we must restrict them to our members only.  Note that the details of field trips are restricted to our monthly newsletter which only goes out to paid-up members.

Secondly, the definite highlight of the California Rare Fruit Growers’ year is our annual scion exchange in February.  While the grafting demonstrations are open to the public, priority access to the scionwood goes to members.

Thirdly, where else can you find such a bargain?    Chapter dues for 2024 are $10 for an entire year (and there’s a discount for a longer commitment)! Yes, this is a teensy increase over 5 years ago, but the rent on our meeting place has also risen. (And if you could find us a good, cheap, permanent home there might be a Lifetime Membership in it for you…)

Please note that you must be a member of our parent organization in order to be a recognized member of this, or any other, chapter.  If you are not already a member of crfg.org or do not join speedily, your chapter membership will be voided and your chapter dues will be refunded.

You can join our chapter by clicking here.

You can join our national organization by clicking here.   Membership for both chapter and national is assumed to be a family membership.

If you are not comfortable with PayPal, it is always be possible to click on the Manual/Offline option and send us a check.

And hey, if you are feeling super-generous, go ahead and donate us some money.  CRFG-WLA is a registered non-profit and all donations are tax-deductible.
